Chevy Drivers Can Now “See the Future”
Chevrolet is all about making innovative changes, and putting their drivers first is a priority. That’s why Chevy drivers are some of the most confident and safest drivers behind the wheel.
Top technology makes Chevy drivers safer behind the wheel with OnStar Proactive Alerts. This technology is actually similar to those used on the Boeing 787 jet. The tech used on the jet sends in-flight messages to ground crews that alerts them of parts of the plane that will need to be inspected once they land.
OnStar Proactive Alerts works similarly. It monitors your vehicle’s health, particularly the starter motor, fuel pump, and battery. It monitors it on a continual basis and lets you know if anything unusual is detected.
“With Proactive Alerts, we can now offer customers even greater peace-of-mind by taking the guesswork out of when to service their vehicle,” said Steven Holland, chief technologist for Vehicle Health Management at General Motors.
How does it work? It collects data every time the car is started, and then constantly monitors changes in that data. Proactive Alerts is currently available for 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, Corvette, and Equinox owners who are OnStar subscribers.
