Back-to-School Carpool Tips
It’s that time of year again! The leaves are changing colors and the kids are heading back to school, which means it’s time to get ready to carpool. Whether you need help coordinating, driving, or dropping off, carpooling can make any parent’s life easier. Here are some awesome back-to-school carpool tips from us here at Crossroads Chevy Buick GMC.
- Coordinating – Busy parents aren’t the best at coordinating for carpool, so it’s a smart move to make a schedule for the school year. Contact other parents and see who can drive when and how many kids they can fit in their vehicle. Try to assign a different parent to each week so there’s no confusion about who’s picking the kids up from school on Wednesday.
- Driving – Keep the car in park until you’re sure everyone is wearing their seatbelt and remember that only 13 year-olds and up can legally ride in the front passenger seat. Follow all speed limits and pay attention to crossing guards and monitors. They’re there to help, after all.
- Dropping Off – Always drop kids off on the curbside and have the older kids wait for younger ones to ensure everyone gets out safety. Double check to make sure no one forgot anything in the backseat before driving away.
