Four Chevys Ranked as Best Competitors in J.D. Power US Initial Quality Study
The annual J.D. Power US Initial Quality Study is a reliable resource for many car shoppers looking for a vehicle, that will perform the way it promises to once it gets home to their driveway and that will continue to deliver that exceptional performance for years to come. It is an honor for four Chevrolet models to rank highest in their segments for initial quality. In addition, several models were named to the top-three in their class.
The Chevrolet Malibu, Equinox, Silverado 1500, and Spark earned the highest ranking for vehicle quality in their respective segments. The Equinox tied for first-place with another model in its class.
The Chevy Sonic, Silverado HD, Traverse, Camaro, Impala, and Tahoe also earned honorable mentions for their top-three finishes.
In order to rank the vehicles, the experts at J.D. Power survey new vehicle owners during the first 90 days of ownership. The number of problems reported earns each model a score in problems per 100 vehicles (PP100). The vehicle with the lowest score of PP100 ranks highest in its class.
“We are constantly challenging ourselves to bring to market the highest-quality products for our customers, regardless of the type of vehicle they purchase,” said Alan Batey, president for global Chevrolet. “Quality studies like this one tell us we are moving in the right direction.”
