2016 Chevrolet Volt Named the 2015 Green Car of the Year
The much-celebrated 2016 Chevrolet Volt has earned yet another award, winning the title of 2015 Green Car of the Year for the second year in the row. At this point, the green benefits of the new Chevy Volt have become simply undeniable.
The hybrid gas-electric model was honored because of its incredible extended range. Thanks to its clever construction, the Volt can drive up to 53 miles on electricity alone, followed by 420 miles on gas and battery power.
This means that not only does the Chevy Volt have a much lower impact on the environment than other vehicles, but also, it saves the driver enormous amounts of money otherwise spent on gasoline.
Green Car Journal, an industry-leading publication in green automobile technology, awarded the title to the Chevy Volt. Of course, the Volt was given the same honor last year for its first-gen model, which could only drive for 38 miles on pure electricity.
